About Keshav Jeev-Van Foundation
A nonprofit working towards a healthier relationship between people, animals, plants and the ecosystems they share. Restoring Nature. Protecting Biodiversity. Creating Space for Every Life.
Who we are
Keshav Jeev-Van Foundation is a nonprofit organisation focused on environmental conservation, biodiversity awareness, ecological restoration, animal welfare and environmental education.
Based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, the Foundation creates opportunities for people to learn about nature through field experiences, educational programmes, expert interactions and community participation.
Our work begins with a simple belief: meaningful conservation requires us to understand the relationships that connect living beings with one another and with their habitats.
We aim to encourage a thoughtful, compassionate and informed approach to the natural world, one that values biodiversity, respects the needs of living beings and recognises the importance of healthy ecosystems.
Nature is not merely a resource to use or a landscape to decorate. It is a living, interconnected system of which we are a part.
The meaning of Keshav Jeev-Van
- Keshav
- The inspiration behind the work: compassion, service and care for all forms of life. A name with philosophical depth, associated with reverence for life and responsibility towards the natural world.
- Jeev
- Living beings of every kind: humans, animals, birds, insects and the countless small lives between.
- Van
- Forests, habitats and ecosystems: the living environment that holds biodiversity together.
Together, the name carries one idea: a living relationship between people, wildlife and nature. Jeev-Van expresses a world in which living beings and their habitats are understood as interconnected rather than isolated. The Foundation's work is open to people of every faith, belief system and background.
Why the Foundation exists
Environmental concern becomes more meaningful when people understand how ecosystems function, why species depend on each other, how human activities affect habitats and what responsible action can look like. The Foundation tries to make these connections easier to see through practical experiences, accessible education and community participation.
A healthy environment depends on relationships among native vegetation, soil, insects, birds, animals, microorganisms, water, climate and people. Conservation must therefore go beyond isolated actions. It requires understanding ecological relationships, respecting the needs of different living beings and making responsible decisions.
Vision
An ecologically healthier world where biodiversity is understood and respected, ecosystems are given the opportunity to recover, and people live with greater responsibility towards other living beings.
Mission
To advance environmental understanding and responsible action through biodiversity education, ecological restoration awareness, animal welfare, nature-based learning and community participation.
