Privacy Policy
What this website collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
We collect only what you type into one of our forms: your name, email address and message, and, depending on the form, your phone number, city, institution details, interests, availability and any accessibility needs you choose to share. The school and college form asks for an institution's official contact details, not students' personal information. Please do not include children's personal details in any form.
Why we collect it
To reply to your enquiry, to coordinate a programme or volunteer participation you have asked about, and to keep a record of that conversation. We do not sell or share your information for marketing.
How forms are handled
Forms are sent from your browser to this website's own server function over HTTPS, checked on the server and forwarded by email to the Foundation's enquiry address through an email delivery service. If that email service is not available, the form reports that it could not be sent and suggests contacting us by email directly. We do not store submissions in a public database.
External forms and groups
Volunteer registration uses a Google Form, so what you enter there is collected by Google on our behalf and is subject to Google's privacy terms. The volunteer and Biodiversity Circle groups run on WhatsApp, so your phone number is visible to group members according to WhatsApp's rules. Join only if you are comfortable with that. We use registration details only to coordinate volunteer activities.
Fonts and other third parties
This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers when a page loads. We do not run advertising or analytics trackers, so there is no cookie banner. If that changes, this policy and a consent option will be updated first.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails are kept only as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any programme that follows from it, and are then deleted. Volunteer details are kept while you remain interested in participating.
Your requests
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information you have sent us, or withdraw your consent to be contacted, by emailing kjvf101@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Photographs
Identifiable photographs of participants, and especially of children, are published only with appropriate consent. See the Image and Child Safeguarding Policy.
