Keshav Jeev-Van Foundation

Environmental Education, Biodiversity Awareness and Wildlife Conservation Programmes for Schools and Colleges

Institutional programme proposal

Many Lives. One Living World.

About KJVF

Keshav Jeev-Van Foundation is a nonprofit organisation based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, focused on environmental conservation, biodiversity awareness, ecological restoration, animal welfare and environmental education. KJVF is established under the Section 8 company framework in India.

Our programmes are designed to help students understand biodiversity, native flora and fauna, ecological relationships, wildlife conservation and responsible coexistence through guided field experiences, educational visits, expert interactions and school-based activities.

Vision and mission

Vision. An ecologically healthier world where biodiversity is understood and respected, ecosystems are given the opportunity to recover, and people live with greater responsibility towards other living beings.

Mission. To advance environmental understanding and responsible action through biodiversity education, ecological restoration awareness, animal welfare, nature-based learning and community participation.

Programme objectives

  • Develop awareness of biodiversity and ecological relationships.
  • Introduce students to native flora and fauna.
  • Encourage observation, curiosity and scientific questioning.
  • Explain the importance of habitats and ecosystem functioning.
  • Promote responsible behaviour around wildlife.
  • Introduce ecological restoration concepts.
  • Encourage compassion and environmental responsibility.
  • Create opportunities for direct interaction with knowledgeable practitioners.

The five programme categories

  1. Outdoor Biodiversity and Forest Learning. Guided observation in a forest or biodiversity park, so participants can see for themselves how species and habitats depend on each other.
  2. Wildlife and Biological Park Educational Visits. A structured visit to a biological park, with guided observation and worksheets that connect what students see to habitats and conservation.
  3. Wildlife Rescue, Animal First Aid Awareness and Coexistence. A safety-first awareness session on how to respond when an animal is injured or a wild animal enters a neighbourhood: who to call, and why untrained handling harms people and animals.
  4. Environmental Education Within Schools and Colleges. Lectures, discussions, quizzes, games and creative activities that bring ecological understanding into the classroom.

Public Biodiversity Walks and Nature Awareness is a separate, community-facing programme.

Learning outcomes

Through participation, students are expected to develop greater awareness of native flora and fauna, a clearer understanding of ecosystems and biodiversity, better observation and questioning skills, awareness of responsible wildlife response and coexistence, appreciation for forests, habitats and ecological restoration, opportunities to learn directly from conservation professionals, and greater interest in responsible environmental behaviour. Where appropriate, KJVF may use quizzes, observation sheets, student feedback and post-programme discussions to assess learning. A single visit is not expected to produce a measurable change in behaviour or in the ecosystem.
